What is Python ?

Python is a programming language. It’s used for many different applications. It’s used in some high schools and colleges as an introductory programming language because Python is easy to learn, but it’s also used by professional software developers at places such as Google, NASA, and Lucasfilm Ltd.

Where can I get Python

Python is free to download and use. If you would like a copy on your computer it can be found here : Python.org

Python on a Browser

For this course, you may prefer to use Python within your browser. This allows you to enter python commands and instructions from within the Web Browser you are using, without having to install anything on your computer. This is good for learning the language, but, if you plan to do 'real' work with python, it would be better to install the language.
